Virtual worlds, real learning?
Thursday 10th May 2007
Congress Centre, London

The Eduserv Foundation is pleased to announce our third annual Symposium, to be held at the Congress Centre in London on Thursday 10th May. The event will attempt to look past the hype surrounding virtual worlds such as Second Life and evaluate whether they offer real opportunities for learners at UK educational institutions.

The symposium is intended for policy makers and practitioners working in the areas of information and communication technology and e-learning service delivery in UK HE and FE institutions. Specifically, we hope that people attending the event will:

  • gain a greater understanding of Second Life and virtual worlds in general
  • hear a range of different views about the issues involved in using Second Life to support elearning
  • have an opportunity to put questions to the Second Life developers and other experts.

The programme for the day can be accessed from our website http://www.eduserv.org.uk/foundation/symposium/2007/. The event is free to all participants and lunch will be provided. There are a limited number of places so early booking is advised.
