Enhancing learning; virtual worlds, simulations and game based learning

This free seminar, hosted by the Government's British Educational Communications and Technology Agency (Becta), will present emerging themes in games and new technologies, which can be used for learning. It will also present recent research findings, together with Becta's thinking in relation to this developing area.

The seminar will be an opportunity to hear a range of perspectives on the subject and to find out about new researc and projects exploring the impact of games technologies, design and use in educational settings.

Speakers confirmed to date include David Hassell, Director of Educational Content at Becta, Leigh Jackson, Deputy Director of the Communications & Content Industries Unit at the DTI, Ernest Adams, independent games design consultant and Mary Matthews from Blitz Games' Trusim division.
